I always hear people saying that York City isn’t worth spending time in; there’s nothing worthwhile downtown; there’s nothing there that interests me. I’ve even caught myself at times wanting to find other places to spend an evening or enjoy a lunch. If you start spending any time downtown, you’ll quickly realize that’s just not the case.  

The DowntownYorkPa.com website is a great resource for finding things to do downtown.  They have posted a great map of downtown York which highlights over 120 shop, restaurants, cultural centers and other activities to participate in downtown.
